Palm was originally incorporated in California in January 1992 as Palm Computing, Inc. In connection with the IPO and separation from 3Com, the company was reincorporated in Delaware as Palm, Inc. in February 2000. On October 29, 2003, the company changed its name from Palm, Inc. to palmOne, Inc., following the spin-off of PalmSource, which was the software operating system business, and the acquisition of Handspring, Inc. On July 14, 2005, palmOne, Inc., changed its corporate name back to Palm, Inc.
