SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug 30, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Fourth graph and contact information for Erin Freeley should read: 650-762-2863 (sted 650-759-2863).

The corrected release reads:

MEDIA ADVISORY/PALM FIRST CELL PHONE MANUFACTURER IN SUPPORT OF SB-1613 (SIMITIAN), LEGISLATION LIMITING DRIVER'S USE

Palm, Inc. (Nasdaq:PALM), a world leader in mobile computing, is available to comment on passage of a California State measure, SB 1613 (Simitian), which prohibits automobile drivers from using a wireless phone while operating a vehicle unless the driver is using the device in hands-free mode. Palm was the first, and to date remains the only, major cell phone manufacturer to support the bill.

Palm believes that the bill responsibly addresses evidence that handheld cell phone use increases the risk of accidents.

Palm's Treo smartphones fully support hands-free use. They are equipped with speaker phones and are compatible with a number of hands-free accessories, including car kits, headsets and earpieces.

If you would like to schedule an interview for comment on SB 1613, please contact Erin Freeley, A&R Edelman (for Palm), 650-762-2863.
